The Film and Video Institute (founded as the Institute of Amateur Cinematographers in 1932) promotes all aspects of amateur film making and its public appreciation. There is a wealth of information on the website, including films.
Becoming a member provides
The South East Region of the Film and Video Institute (SERIAC) is the area to which we belong, and we are specifically linked to Sussex with regard to competitions.
Guernsey Lily International Film Festival
Each autumn Guernsey hosts a prestigious international Film Festival, and provides our nearest opportunity to see award winning amateur films. One of the awards is for the Best Channel Island entry, and entering films provides an opportunity to receive a friendly and helpful appraisal (and maybe an award).
The Jersey Arts Trust assisted the Club with funds for our projector, and is a source of information with all matters involving the arts in Jersey.
Rod and Liz are Officers of the Haywards Heath Cine and Video Society, and they make regular visits to and the Club. Their website shows some of the films they have made.
